The Team

Who We Are

We are a group of medical professionals founded with a common interest in giving back to our veteran community by bridging gaps between our veterans and the VA.

When you speak with us you can rest assured that we truly empathize with you and know what it means to serve. We don’t just say it, we have lived it along with our families as many of us our veterans ourselves and have military and veteran family members.

Our team was assembled by our CEO Tony Ruiz. Tony is a retired Army Orthopedic Surgery Physician Associate who has a deep commitment to veterans and their families.

Tony initially enlisted in the Army starting out as a Private E-1, promoting to sergeant, advancing to Warrant Officer 3 and finally after 23 years of active duty service retired as a Captain. He knows what it means to follow, to lead and to support. Tony has had assignments in the following major commands; First Infantry Division, Third Infantry Division, Twenty Fifth Infantry Division, Eighteenth Airborne Corps, Eighty Second Airborne Division and others.

During service he has been the patient waiting to be seen at sick call, nervous about what his sergeants were going to say about him missing physical training. He has been the sergeant who managed his injured soldiers and their limitations to duty. He has been an Airborne Infantry Battalion Physician Associate responsible for the training of over thirty combat medics and the health care of over 800 paratroopers. During this time he noted the limitations of military medicine.

He has treated in flight emergencies during airborne operations, been the drop zone medical officer stabilizing head injuries, numerous skeletal injuries and having to reset broken ankles and other joints in a field environment. He has treated many service members in the emergency room after traumatic events to include but definitely not limited to car and motorcycle accidents. He has treated numerous service members as an Orthopedic Surgery Physician Associate at Fort Bragg, North Carolina now known as Fort Liberty where he retired from. He has treated gunshot wounds, open and closed fractures, burns and assisted in the operating room. He has assisted in spine, hip, knee, ankle, foot, shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand surgeries.

Tony has seen our military service members and their medical conditions from all sides. This experience along with being a VA compensation and pension examiner has positioned him to expertly assist you and understand what you are going through. He is compassionate to how your medical conditions have impacted your livelihood and quality of life. Tony is a man of faith and is married to the love of his life who together have raised two wonderful young ladies.

Tony is also a combat war veteran fighting in Iraq during the surge. He has personally seen the toll service takes on a person and their families.
